1. black/navy wool dress/tunic with 3/4-sleeves, hidden on-seam pockets, split neckline 2. light-weight nude dress/tunic with banded sleeves 3. button-front petal-patterned cotton dress with (optional) self-belt, patch pockets and small cascade of decorative petals at chest. 4. heavy cotton twill brown jumper with side pockets
i love your jumper! i enjoy reading your blog, just wanted to say hi :) where do you buy all these basics? i am searching for good quality pieces. cheers!
snowbloom - if you would like, you can send an email to me at 34piecesblogger@gmail.com. i am going to try to keep this blog label-free. and i definitely agree, quality is possibly the most important factor. spending more money on a few dresses does work out to the same as having 10-15 less expensive dresses, cost-wise, and i'm finding with this experiment that i have more to wear with fewer clothes. and thank you so much for saying hi. i'm very interested in comments and i'm really happy to have you here.
i agree about quality! :) this experiment is really interesting because i have heard about people working with limited amounts of clothes but i've never seen it, but now i can see it through your blog. i just saw on the side that you would like to remain label free because many items are not produced anymore. doh! i got too excited about the clothes last time and didn't see it, sorry! i was about to send you an email except i didn't know your name or what i would say lol :p i'm thinking if i can work with such a limited wardrobe myself, as i'm a teenager and my clothes preferences are all over the place but your pieces are so established and sophisticated. hope you're having a nice day :)
hi snowbloom. should we give me a nickname? you can call me "34" if you want, in an email. :) i recall hearing about one woman who only wore one brown dress for a year. that sort of extreme measure seems more anti-fashion than truly challenging your wardrobe to serve you well. i think, wearing one dress/item over and over, i would last a week. :) how often would you say you repeat an outfit? i personally frequently do when i find a combo i like. i figure if i can get 2 months or so out of this wardrobe, without repeats, that easily equals a year of dressing. funny you said my stuff is sophisticated... it's nothing i wouldn't have worn as a teenager (ooops, did i just admit i'm no longer a teenager? :p) and most people "my age" dress a bit more conservatively. the only objective thing i can say about these pieces is that i think/hope they are trend-free, for the most part. what do you think?
hmm, i think the brown dress is interesting. i think i read that somewhere on the news too. it does seem anti fashion like you said, but i suppose it's practical for her or something. about the items, i think they should be classic and trendproof as well. i'm looking to acquire things like skirts, a blouse, button down shirt, some tees, ballet flats, scarves, and kitten heels. i think these are classic to me and i find them versatile. because i have a limited income i tend to spend on things that are classic and versatile and for trendy, fun things i buy the cheap stuff from the mall :p
here are the 34 pieces worn in the 34 PIECES blog. labels are not mentioned, but not obscured either, just because almost all items are no longer available, and this is about options more than items.
